	Yeuda Arav Ağlamaz

My father was born to Aaron and Ester Arav, in Ankara, Turkey, on July 16, 1915. His nickname was Leon. In 1934, he changed his family name - together with his parents - to Ağlamaz (a Turkish word), because of the "Family Names' Rule".   He married Sara Benardete (my mother), on December 19, 1936. They had three children: Ester (my sister), Aaron (myself) and Flora (my sister). Ester (Esterika) died when she was 2 years old.   He loved very much our synagogue in Ankara and for years he volunteered as cantor nearby the Hazan (click  here  for pictures of the synagogue in Ankara). My mother died on June 16, 1978, in Ramat Eliyau, Israel. A year after death of my mother, he married Fani Krespi (Parlayan). My father died on April 13, 1986, in Ramat Eliyau, Israel.
